Tipperary artist feeds over 300 children from sales of her work

Sophia Fanning showcased her art works at the Cabra Wetlands on the weekend of April 26 and 27 to raise awareness and funds for the Mary’s Meals charity.

Over 40 of her paintings were sold and together with donations raised a staggering €6622 – 96% of which reaches the front line.

€22 feeds a child one meal a day in a place of education for an entire school year in the poorest countries in the world.

Sophia’s endeavours will feed over 300 children, a truly magnificent day’s work.

Mary’s Meals which was founded by Magnus McFarland Barrow in 2002 is feeding 2.6 million children every day in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Sophia is very grateful to everyone who helped to make her exhibition such a marvelous success.

She would like to thank the committee of Cabragh Wetlands together with all her friends who helped in any way.

All who attended were treated to a vibrant exhibition of paintings which was geatly enhanced by the support of her family.
