Ireland's 'festival of creativity for young people' comes to Tipperary this June

Cruinniú na nÓg, Ireland’s national festival of creativity for young people will be celebrated on Saturday June 7 across Tipperary.

Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people.

Tipperary Creative Ireland office together with Tipperary Library Service, Tipperary Museum of Hidden History and Arts Centres and creative providers throughout Tipperary are delighted to present a busy day of fun and free creative activities for all.

Unleash Your Creative Spark by joining in over 40 events taking place across County Tipperary:

Cashel and Thurles Libraries present a host of varied creative activities; younger children can go on an interactive storytelling adventure, experiment with STEM in a fabulous Robotics workshops.

Let Tipperary Music Generation introduce you to drumming while Dapa Dance Academy will get those feet moving in an
expressive dance workshop.

Take part in ‘Wonder Walls’ for this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg at the Source Arts Centre, young people aged 12–18 years are invited to bring their creativity to life through vibrant, collaborative murals.

Come along to the drop-in sessions on June 7 and get involved in the creativity!

Teenagers, join Fracture Youth Theatre for an Open Mic night at the Source Arts Centre, Thurles, where performances may include music, spoken word, storytelling, comedy, and more.

The vibe will be informal, inclusive, and entirely youth-led.

Also at the Source Arts Centre, the young people and children of Down Syndrome Tipperary will come together with a number of local groups to sign, sing and perform together celebrating music and communication in all its glory. 

Clonmel Applefest is throwing an epic youth takeover at Kickham Plaza, Clonmel – and you’re invited! It’s a full day dedicated to youth creativity, packed with hands-on arts and rafts, live music, and dance vibes from every corner of the
scene. Come along to the Plaza between 12pm – 4pm for juniors and 4– 8pm for the teenager events.

For this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg, South Tipperary Arts Centre are turning the STAC Chapel, Kickham Plaza into a sensory-friendly Outer Space-themed venue from 11am – 4pm.

Enjoy storytelling with Mary Hickey, and a cosmic themed arts and crafts workshop with our tutors. This a free family friendly event, drop-in event.

Cahir Comhaltas musicians and dancers are looking forward to entertaining us from 11am - 1pm at the Cahir Tourist Office Plaza. All welcome.

Galtee Resin Art will host a series of resin art creative workshops at Cahir Arts, Castle Street Cahir from 3.30pm, to book contact Siobhan on 087 1174523.

While you’re there, why not immerse yourself in the delight of working with clay as you model a pinch pot, a wall tile, a character or a trinket dish.

At Tipperary Town Library, Toe Tapping Tipperary, Rachel Sweeney leads an all inclusive dance workshop for 5-12 year olds at 10-11am, storytelling through Irish Sign Language from 11am-1pm, Creative Potato Stamp print workshops, for 4-7 year olds from 2-3pm and for 7+ year olds from 3-4 pm and finally Line Dancing with Bernie Corbett, for 10-14 year olds from 4pm, book your place by ringing 052 616 6126.

Join Youth Work Ireland Tipperary in Tipperary Town for a fun and creative illustration workshop, local illustrator Gary Power introduces this workshop, focusing on drawing little joyful moments in daily life, suitable for ages 14-18
years of age, book on the website.

All Cruinniú na nÓg events are free and we would love to see our young people come out on the day and get involved and perhaps discover a new passion.
