Local Tipperary artist launches inspiring new children's book

Julie Petit has just launched a children's book called The Power of Birds, which she both wrote and illustrated.

It’s a gentle and engaging story that follows a little robin as he teaches his friend the fox all about the "superpowers" of birds, in other words, their fascinating natural abilities.

This project is inspired by the birds she observes in her garden every day, and reflects her deep belief that understanding nature is the first step toward protecting it.

Her hope is to spark curiosity and love for wildlife in children from a young age.

To fund the printing of the book, Julie has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the platform Ulule, which you can find here.

Julie is also the co-owner of Chou’s Cottage, a small independent shop in Clonmel where they showcase Irish-made, ethical products, including my her own illustrations.
