Liam Maher, owner of Maher's shop in the village, has been interviewed this week by Sally Ann Barrett of RTE about his new shop and service station in the village.

In 2024, Liam purchased the former family-owned store and petrol station which was run by the O'Dwyer's for many years in serving the needs of a wide community and passing trade.

This new business featuring the Mace and Apple Green brands consists of a large store of much variety, an off license and petrol station is a fantastic boost for the village and parish community as well as the local economy.
As a new venture and an important addition to the village the shop is opened to 6am to 10pm to facilitate early morning workers and customers in selling Insomnia coffee and etc.
