All-Ireland final 2026 to have a distinct Tipperary flavour as the 2001 winning team are to be honoured

Tipperary’s 2001 All-Ireland-winning team will be honoured at Croke Park this weekend
Tipperary's 2001 All-Ireland senior hurling winning team will be honoured at Croke Park on Sunday as part of the GAA's celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of their memorable triumph.
The players and management from the famous 2001 side will be recognised during All-Ireland final day, joining other milestone championship-winning teams being celebrated by the GAA.
Managed by Nicky English, and captained by Tommy Dunne, Tipperary enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in the county's history, completing a remarkable League, Munster and All-Ireland treble.
The Premier County capped off that outstanding campaign by defeating Galway in the All-Ireland final, ending a 10-year wait for the Liam MacCarthy Cup and securing the county's 25th senior hurling title.
Sunday's recognition will be a nice blast from the past for supporters, recognising the contribution of one of Tipperary's most iconic teams as they return to Croke Park a quarter of a century after lifting the Liam MacCarthy Cup.
