Aidan Stakelum is set to join the Tipperary senior hurling coacing ticket

Liam Cahill is expected to add Aidan Stakelum to his Tipperary senior hurling management team ahead of the 2027 inter-county season, according to the Irish Independent.

Cahill is reshaping his backroom setup following the departure of David Herity to Kilkenny, with Stakelum emerging as the leading candidate to join the Premier County.

The move would see Stakelum return to Tipperary after a successful season with Laois, where he played a key coaching role in guiding the O'Moore County to Joe McDonagh Cup success during his first year involved with the squad.

Stakelum has built an impressive coaching reputation in recent years. He managed his native Holycross Ballycahill to the semi-finals of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship last season, having previously been part of the Loughmore Castleiney management team that captured the Dan Breen Cup under Eamonn Kelly.

He also enjoyed considerable success at schools level as a member of the Thurles CBS coaching team in recent years, helping the school secure both Harty Cup and Croke Cup titles.
