2. Robert Doyle Rating: 8/10 Arguably the biggest find for Liam Cahill in this league campaign, Doyle started his fourth successive game for Tipp and had another fine game. Picked up Gearóid Dunne who did nick 1-1 but the goal couldn't be put down to any fault of Doyle's. He has shown that he can defend man to man and carried the ball well when in possession.

3. Eoghan Connolly Rating: 7/10 Connolly had one moment of misjudgement in the first half, allowing the ball in behind that led to Mossy Keoghan's goal chance that was saved by Hogan. Aside from that, he continued to show well in the full-back position. He will have bigger tests going forward, but there is no argument that he has made the most of the league at number 3.

7. Michael Breen Rating: 8/10 As the designated man marker of the defence, Breen picked up TJ Reid from the throw-in and it went very well for the Ballina man. Not too many defenders can say they kept Reid scoreless from play after 70 minutes of hurling and it shows the form Breen is in this year. He has stepped up big time in terms of leadership through performance alone and that will please management no end.

9. Joe Caesar Rating: 6/10 Named to start at midfield but retained his spot at wing back. Did well again without setting the world alight as he settles into senior hurling. He hit a fine score from range in the first half but was lucky to avoid a yellow card in that time too. Overall though, it has been an encouraging first two starts for the Holycross Ballycahill man.
