MacLochlainn Roadmarking Mid Senior Hurling Championship Final ‘Pa’-rty Time for Sars’ as Bourke Obliterates Champions

Thurles Sarsfields 7-16 Loughmore-Castleiney 2-13

Thurles Sarsfields humbled defending champions Loughmore Castleiney in the MacLochlainn Roadmarkings Mid Senior Hurling Final at Templemore on Sunday evening last when county star Pa Bourke fired a double hat-trick of goals with a stunning display of clinical finishing which blitzed the opposition.

It was a totally unexpected and brilliant outcome from a Sarsfields perspective – the Blues were perhaps stung by the bookies placing of Loughmore Castleiney as favourites for the title following their own fine win over county champions Drom-Inch in the semi-final. But, the holders were always going to find it very hard to repeat the same form for the second time in a week and when they went three goals down within ten minutes of the start, their task seemed impossible.
