Who won the track events at Tipperary Community Games Athletics finals?

The Tipperary Community Games County Athletics finals took place on Sunday last on a glorious, sunny day in Templemore Athletics Track.

Children and their families converged in their hundreds from all parts of the county, armed with water and sunscreen in anticipation of what turned out to be a busy, action- packed exciting morning and afternoon of track and field events.

The day began with the traditional parade of all the represented areas around the track, with their colourful flags and banners, with Borrisoleigh being crowned best turned out area in the parade.

Thanks are extended  to Templemore Athletic Club and the track committee for the use of their wonderful facilities and to all the many Community Games volunteers from across the county who worked tirelessly at making this such an efficient, well-run and enjoyable event.  

Well done to all the children who participated  in the county finals and congratulations to all the medal winners.

All medalists in the track events now progress to represent Tipperary in the Munster Athletics finals in Ennis on Sunday,  August 20, while the gold and silver medalists in the track events progress to represent Tipperary in the National Athletics finals in Carlow on Saturday, August 26.
