The Waterford group carrying on the Clancy Brothers musical legacy are coming to Carrick-on-Suir’s Brewery Lane

Following a fantastic performance at the Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival in Carrick-on-Suir, the Clancy Boys from An Rinn in Waterford return to Brewery Lane Theatre for an evening of music, storytelling, theatre, mischief and plenty of craic.

The show will be staged at the Carrick-on-Suir theatre on Saturday, September 12 at 8pm. It is being presented by Carrick-on-Suir's Tudor Artisan Hub in association Clonmel World Music.

Kicking off the night will be young comedian Willie Whelan from An Rinn. He will take the mic for a hilarious 15-minute opening set, “How’ya now?”

With his signature local wit, sharp storytelling and pure Waterford craic, Willie is sure to have the room primed and in high spirits before the main event begins.

The Clancy Boys bring something very special to the stage. Aged just 16 to 19, this young five-piece combine the songs and traditions of the Clancy family with youthful energy, theatre, humour and plenty of divilment.

The group have deep roots in the legendary Clancy family. Colm Clancy and Liam Clancy carry the family name into a new generation, joined by their friends Fiachna Ó' Lochlainn, Molua Mac Seain and Dinny Ó'Gealbháin.

Together, they bring the songs, stories and spirit of the tradition to the stage in their own distinctive way.

These are performers who know how to entertain an audience, bringing great Irish ballads, powerful vocals, acoustic musicianship, humour, storytelling and a strong sense of theatre to the stage.

From The Jolly Tinker and Rocky Road to Dublin to The Mermaid, Sound the Piobrach, As I Roved Out and Finnegan’s Wake, expect old favourites given a fresh and youthful Clancy Boys treatment.

Tickets cost €15 plus booking fee and go on sale via Ticketsource on Saturday, August 29 at 10am.
