Council refuses planning application for new shop in vacant Tipperary building

Tipperary County Council refused planning permission to a new shop due to concerns over parking arrangements
A planning application to demolish an existing shop and construct a replacement building has been refused by Tipperary County Council.
The application concerned the redevelopment of a derelict former shop on Main Street, Ballingarry, with a photo of the shops current condition posted with the application.
The plans outlined the creation of a new deli in the former shop unit.
The application was refused on the grounds that, having regard to the nature and extent of the development, the access, circulation and parking arrangements, works to enlarge the parking and circulation area, and the absence of clearly defined access and parking areas onto the N52 and L5023, the proposal would be facilitated by unauthorised development and would create a traffic hazard and endanger public safety.
The applicant can appeal the council’s decision within four weeks of May 13.
