NEW: Tipperary County Council to fund over 30 climate action events this October

The funding comes in support of An Taisce’s National Climate Action Week
Tipperary County Council’s Climate Action Office is supporting An Taisce’s National Climate Action Week which takes place from 13th to 19th October 2025.
TCC recently issued a Call to community groups under its Community Climate Action Event Fund and there was huge interest from community groups around the county, with 37 applications received.
The Fund encourages and supports community groups to get involved in the National Climate Action Week by hosting community climate action events.
All 37 applications have now been allocated funding that will see a myriad of events held throughout the county either during, or in the period leading up to, National Climate Action Week in County Tipperary.
You can find a full list of the approved events here.
Cllr. John Carroll, Cathaoirleach of TCC said, “I am delighted to see Tipperary County Council supporting so many local voluntary community groups to get involved in and take part in the An Taisce National Climate Action Week. This is a very proactive initiative by the Council to encourage and enhance climate action within our local communities which is an action under our Tipperary County Council Climate Action Plan 2024–2029”.
TCC’s Climate Action Office is looking forward to engaging further with all the community groups involved as they roll out their events. Each group will promote their own event and will set the dates, times and venue themselves.
TCC is also providing funding support to the Tipperary Public Participation Network (PPN) Community Climate Coaches County Event which likewise will take place during National Climate Action Week. This half-day event will be open to all communities across the county and further details will be available from Tipperary PPN shortly.
Ms. Ruth Smith, Co-ordinator, Tipperary PPN stated, “The Tipperary PPN have always worked collaboratively with TCC since our establishment in 2014 and have built up a good support network. I am really happy to have received this funding from TCC to carry out our Climate Coaches County Event which aligns with our policies and strategies”.
