Gleesons pub in Irishtown, Clonmel, hosted a massive gig on Sunday to help raise funds for a 23 year old woman whose life has been destroyed by crippling spinal and brain conditions.
Clonmel Band Aid attracted huge crowds all day and night on Sunday to raise funds for Emma Lacey who has undergone brain surgery and faces her sixth spinal surgery in as many years.
Top bands in the south-east provided the entertainment in an action packed day which kicked off at 1pm.Local bands and musicians joined bands from Cork and Waterford for the event which raised €11,000 for the Emma Lacey Trust.
The Emma Lacey Trust was set up to provide an accessible downstairs bedroom/wetroom for Emma and put in place a fund for medical costs that lie ahead.
Richie Gleeson, who hosted a similar event for a young Clonmel man Evan Hickey last year, said he was delighted to be able to help out again this year.
Paudie Everard, chairman of the Emma Lacey Trust, said: "Gleesons were terrific and so was everybody involved in the organisation of such a magical day. Again the people of Clonmel were very supportive and generous and we are very appreciative of that."
