Ballingarry Parish Journal now available in local shops

The Ballingarry Parish Journal 2017 has arrived with great anticipation to the local shops in Ballingarry, The Commons, Lisnamrock, Grange, Drangan, Mullinahone, Gortnahoe, Ballynonty, Killenaule and Callan.

The front cover is dedicated to the National Famine Commemoration which was held at the Famine Warhouse 1848 on 30th September 2017, with An Taoiseach Leo Vadaker and Minister Heather Humphries, Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht from June to November 2017 leading the Commemoration.

The back and inside covers are dedicated to the 80 individuals named on the World War 1 plaque unveiled on 27th August 2017.
Sympathy is extended to families of all those who died from the parish this past year, many of whom are remembered by their loved ones in this year's journal.

Many achievements are recorded from an education and sporting point of view.
The local schools, clubs and societies continue to report on their year's events and all this shows the high level of local involvement by the community in the parish.

For people overseas who would like to buy a copy of the journal please email: ballingarryparishjournal@gmail.com
