Ballyhoura Active gears up for Charleville Half Marathon

We are heading into Cross Country season as we head into late September and October and a lot of the road racing is done for this year, only a few serious runs left, and of course plenty fun runs and park runs left. Most runners are now focused on the Dublin city Marathon and well advanced in their training programs and are using the usual stepping stones on the way, like Cork to Cobh and the Charleville Half Marathon which is on the 23rd of September this year the reg is still open and will remain so until it is fully booked out but be warned 1,500 people have already signed up and the event will sell out well in advance of the closing date so don’t leave it too late. This race has been a fantastic spectacle in previous years this year they have secured extra parking space, which was a problem in previous years this also accounts for the extra numbers. The road from Kilmallock to Charleville will be closed as usual and an estimated 1,600 runners will toe the line in what promises to be one of the largest events in Munster this year, And definitely on the flattest half marathon route in the country. North Cork AC have run this race very successfully for the last number of years for their details check out their Facebook or their website to register http://www.charlevillehalf.com/registration/.
