Tipperary sprinter Sharlene Mawdsley will appear on the RTÉ New Year's Eve special to cap off what has been an exceptional year for the Newport AC athlete.
On Instagram, Sharlene said: "An absolute privilege to be surrounded by so many wonderful people whilst looking back on 2024."
The Late Late NYE Show on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player airs at 10.20pm. Patrick Kielty is back to usher in the New Year with a star-studded Late Late Show extravaganza.
Featuring performances from the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, The Undertones and Picture This, the show celebrates the past year while looking forward to the future.
Highlights include interviews with Olympians Mona McSharry and Sharlene Mawdsley, musical moments with James Blunt and appearances by rising stars Clinton Liberty and Alisha Weir.
Sharlene was recently announced as the Person of the Year 2024 by the Tipperary Association Dublin.
A native of Newport, Sharlene has been involved in athletics, representing Ireland at the highest level for a number of years and has been consistently highly placed whenever she competed.
