Olympian Sharlene Mawdsley has taken the 400 metre indoor title this afternoon at the Indoor Athletics Championships.
The Tipperary native and Newport AC athlete crossed the line first in 51:91 seconds with Phil Healy in second and Rachel McCann in third.
Clonmel's Sean Tobin won the men's 3,000 metres just edging out James Gormley on the line.

Meanwhile, Katie Bergin (pictured below) of Moyne AC won the National Senior Indoor 200m title in a new personal best of 24.03 seconds, in a stunning performance, taking .23 s off her previous best, also securing a first ever national senior indoor title for Moyne Athletic Club in its 77 year history at the National Senior Indoor Championships in Abbottstown Dublin.
