Queen of the Castle is crowned in Cahir

Pamela Dunne from Cavan is crowned Queen of the Castle
All the Macra ladies arrived in Cahir last Friday to take part in the Queen of the Castle competition that took place over a weekend.
The competing Queens were Macra na Feirme members from all around Ireland. The Queens arrived to a day full of enjoyable activities with a tour of the castle among them, followed by a tipsy tavern trail that continued in several venues and ended with a traditional music session.
The last event of the weekend was the Coronation Banquet that took place on Sunday afterwards in Cahir House Hotel at 6.30pm. After a Four Course Meal the Queens enjoyed their last evening of entertainment with music by Tradstone and Rebel Hearts Band. The 2026 Queen of the Castle was announced at midnight and everyone enjoyed the final night of entertainment until late.
