Tipperary County Council is considering a planning application to redevelop the prominently located vacant Shebeen Pub property on the corner of New Street and Castle Street in Carrick-on-Suir town centre,
The applicant, James Darren O’Connor, is seeking planning approval to demolish the existing former lounge bar and toilets and construct a new bar with toilets adjoining the Shebeen premises at New Street.
He is also seeking permission to build six apartments adjoining the Shebeen premises at Castle Street. The proposed apartments would comprise two single bedroom units on the ground floor, two single bedroom apartments on the first floor and two bedroom apartments on the second and third floors.
The planning application to redevelop the property, which has been vacant for years, was submitted to Tipperary County Council on September 5.
The Council is due to decide on whether to approve, refuse and or seek further information on the planning application on October 30.
