Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society bestows nine honorary life memberships at gala concert

Pat O’Regan (centre) receives his honorary life membership. He joined the Society in 1976 as a stage hand and prop builder and progressed to becoming a leading stage performer winning Best Actor and Best Overall Performance AIMS awards in 1986 for his role in the Society’s production of Music Man.

Marion Sheehan (centre) is presented with her honorary life membership certificate by Carrick Musical Society Chairman Carolan Deehy Power and President Sandra Power. She has been key member of the Front of House team selling programmes, tickets and ushering people to their seats at Society shows over the past four decades.

Sylvia Cooney-Sheehan (centre) receiving her honorary life membership from Carrick MS Chairman Caolán Deehy Power and President Sandra Power. She joined the Society in 1976 and has performed on stage, served on the Society’s committee and most recently has been a member of the back stage hairdressing team.

Helen Hahessy (centre) receives her honorary life membership. She joined Carrick MS in 1979 andhas performed as a soloist and actor in Society shows and concerts. She won an AIMS award for Best Comedienne in 2007 for her role in Witches of Eastwick

Catherine Hogan Ahern is presented with her honorary life membership certificate by Carrick MS Chairman Caolán Deehy Power and President Sandra Power. She joined Carrick MS in 1973 and played many prominent roles in Society productions.

Alice Hennessy (centre) accepts honorary life membership on behalf of her brother Liam Butler, who has won multiple AIMS and Waterford Festival of Light Opera awards for his acting, singing and directing. He has also worked on lighting and sets and served on the Board of the Strand Theatre

Association of Irish Musical Societies Vice-President Seamus Power (centre) receives his honorary life membership certificate from Carrick MS Chairman Caolán Deehy Power and President Sandra Power. Seamus joined Carrick MS in 1976 and has performed in many shows, chaired the Society and Strand Theatre’s Board of Directors and co-founded the Society’s patrons scheme. He is a member of the Society’s Performing Arts Academy staff and recently served as President of AIMS
