Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society to stage Man of La Mancha for its 2026 show

Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society will host a launch night for its 2026 show – Man of La Mancha – at the Strand Theatre on Wednesday, November 12 at 8pm.

The Society certainly isn’t resting on its laurels after the final curtains fell on its hugely successful Halloween pantomime - Alice in Wonderwall.

It’s inviting any members or prospective members interested in getting involved in the production to the launch event for the show that will be staged at the Strand next spring.

Man of La Mancha, written by Dale Wasserman with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, is inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ famous novel Don Quixote.

The show is billed as a “moving story of imagination, courage and the power of dreams,” and was last staged by Carrick Musical Society 30 years ago.

Carrick Musical Society’s latest production of the musical will be directed by Andrew Holden with Fergal Carroll as Musical Director. Claire O’Hara is the choreographer, Laura Cotter is the show’s chorus mistress and Padraig Sheehan is the production manager.

The launch night at the Strand will be an opportunity to meet some of the production team, learn about the musical and find out how you can get involved either on stage or behind the scenes.

“We’ll also share audition details and information on how to become a member for the new season,” said Carrick Musical Society PRO Siobhán Grace-Regan.

“Don't miss the start of this exciting new adventure. Dream the impossible dream with us,” she declared.
