Uisce Éireann seeks planning approval to upgrade Carrick-on-Suir water treatment plant

Uisce Éireann has submitted a planning application to Tipperary County Council seeking the go ahead to upgrade the Lingaun Water Treatment Plant that serves part of Carrick-on-Suir town.

The application requests permission to develop a new high lift pump kiosk, new UV disinfection kiosk, new chemical dosing for orthophasphate and sodium hydroxide in a container and a new sodium hydroxide bulk storage tank.

It also requests the green light to develop a new borehole 1 kiosk, new borehole 2 kiosk and all related site works at the treatment plant located at Tinvane, Carrick-on-Suir.

The application was received by the council on March 23 and a decision on whether to approve, refuse or seeking further information from Uisce Éireann is due to be reached on May 6.
