A drive through coffee shop in Tipperary has been allowed to keep alterations made to the premises at an earlier date.

Applicants for the premises, Three Bridges Drive Thru Coffee, at Ballylynch, Carrick on Suir, applied for retention permission for the drive through coffee shop in the town in August of last year.

As part of the application the owners were asked by the council to prove that the lighting proposals for the development the council’s lighting policy requirements.

The premises responded that they are never open during darkness hours, therefore there is no requirement for lighting within the development.

A traffic survey was undertaken at the premises and found that the drive-thru and commercial units generate relatively low levels of traffic throughout the operational day.

The survey counted a maximum of 32 vehicle arrivals and 30 vehicle departures during the busiest hour.

The application was granted permission to retain changes made to the premises on September 1, with five conditions attached to the council’s decision.
