The planning enforcement prosecution against a county Tipperary man over his unauthorised log cabin home is due to be heard on July 4 at Cashel District Court.

Mr Meehan appeared before the Cashel Court last December for non-compliance with a planning enforcement notice served on him on June 3 last year by failing to remove his log cladded home and its outbuildings, failing to disconnect the building from all utilities and services and failing to undertake works to restore the site to agricultural use.

He was directed at that court sitting to remove the log cladded house or face imprisonment.

At Cashel District Court on April 4, Tipperary County Council's prosecution against Mr Meehan for non-compliance with a planning enforcement notice served on him last year for failing to remove the house, was adjourned until June 6 for mention.

Now it is understood the case will be heard again on July 4.

Planning has since been refused again for Sean Meehan's cabin.

Sean Meehan applied for "permission for retention" for a mobile home (presently cladded in timber as to appear as a log cabin), as well as two outbuildings and the use of same as a domestic storage.

The development address is at Woodinstown, Cahir, county Tipperary.

The application also provides for a septic tank and percolation area, entrance and driveway plus all associated site works.

The planning permission was also for a new external cladding with plaster finish to the mobile home.
