Shauna Browne hails from Tipperary
As Tipperary people everywhere celebrated International Women’s Day, one of Tipperary's best known sportswomen has praised the work of two local charities, saying they are a constant source of support for people who are at their most vulnerable.
Clonmel’s Shauna Browne, who is a rising star in the Female Pro Boxer sporting world says she is volunteering some time with the Cuan Saor Refuge and the Cluáin Training Centre in the town saying that they do “sterling work for people who need their help, support and care most”.

“Everybody needs a helping and a guiding hand at some period in their lives, none more so when they are in either abusive relationships or when they have experienced mental health difficulties”.
“I am in awe of the huge work these two centres do, they are a light in the darkness when people need it most and I am happy to give some time to help them”.

“Remember nobody is invincible, we all experience difficulties in life and we get through it ,mainly because there are groups like Cuan Saor and Cluáin Training Centre to help”.
“International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on the incredible advances and strives that women have made, and continue to make, and I am so glad to give back to my community who have been solid and loyal supporters of mine and support two local groups who do powerful work”.
