'Recipe for disaster,' Tipperary gardaí catch BMW driver doing double the speed limit

Driver caught at 90km/h in wet conditions during Clonmel garda checkpoint
Gardaí in Clonmel seized a car and issued several fixed charge notices after an unaccompanied learner driver was detected travelling at 90km/h in a 50km/h zone during poor weather conditions on Wednesday.
Members of the Roads Policing Unit were carrying out a speed enforcement checkpoint in the town during poor weather conditions when the vehicle was detected at almost double the legal speed limit. Gardaí say the driver, who was a learner and unaccompanied, had the vehicle seized at the scene.
