Gardaí assisted emergency services at the scene of a fire at a residential building on Bridge Street in Clonmel, county Tipperary that occurred on Thursday evening, November 27, 2025.

The fire was extinguished by local fire services and no injuries were reported, gardaí said.
A number of people were treated for smoke inhalation.

Several people - including a child - were rescued from an apartment building in Clonmel on Thursday night, according to reports.
Councillor Richie Molloy told The Journal that a "major disaster was averted" thanks to the rapid response.
Sixteen adults and a child were rescued from the apartments and brought to safety by the emergency services, according to reports.

Cllr Molly added: "Many people rescued from an apartment block in town. Most were treated at the scene by the National Ambulance Service."
Gardaí have begun an investigation into the cause of the fire.
