The Stonethrowers Rally will take place this October, having been postponement in July

A popular Tipperary rally has been scheduled for a new date, having been postponed over the summer months due to excessive heat.

The new date selected for the rally is Sunday, October 25.

The Stonethrowers Rally, which was scheduled to take place on July 19, was postponed due to the weather conditions at the time.

However, an opportunity has presented itself over the October Bank Holiday weekend for the rally to be hosted.

In a statement posted by The STS Group Stonethrowers Rally 2026, they said: “Following a recent meeting of the Motorsport Ireland Rallies Commission, the organising committee of the 2026 STS Group Stonethrowers Rally are delighted to confirm that the event will now take place on the 25th of October. We would like to thank all stakeholders and relevant parties for their support in ensuring our event can go ahead. The club will now turn our attention to preparing for the October bank holiday weekend.

“We would like to remind competitors that if you had a paid entry in for the original date and have yet to claim a refund we will guarantee you an entry for the new date. Entries will reopen upon the re-publishing of the regulations at a later date.

“Further details are to follow and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Clonmel this October.”
