RIP: Sadness in Tipp GAA club as mother of county championship winning players passes away

There is profound sadness for all involved with Loughmore Castleiney GAA and the community at large after the passing of Claire Connolly earlier this week.

The mother of Ed and Ciaran Connolly, the pair were prominent members of the Loughmore Castleiney panels that won the hurling and football county double in 2024.

Claire passed away in University Hospital Limerick surrounded by her loving family. Will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, husband Eamon, her daughter Mary, brothers John, Pat and Peter, her brother and sister in laws, nephews, nieces, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

The house is private to family and close friends on Thursday night, and it is reposing in the Nativity of Our Lady Church, Loughmore, from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday evening. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11-30 am with interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
