Legendary Nenagh publican, Una Powell, has passed away this week.
Una passed away peacefully on Wednesday 28 May, after a short illness in the loving care of the esteemed staff of St Conlon's Home in Nenagh.
Predeceased by her parents Josephine and Robert, her sister Kathleen (Flannery), and her brother Thomas, she will be deeply regretted by her loving brothers Robert and Andrew. Sisters-in-law Marion and Patricia, and brother-in-law Frank. Nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Una's namesake pub, which she sold a number of years ago but has kept its name at Summerhill in Nenagh, has been a favourite haunt for many Nenagh locals throughout the years and people have come from across Ireland and even further to visit the establishment that has earned such a great name for itself.
