Tipperary Traitors contestant ruffles some feathers in episode two of new season

Borrisokane man Pauric O’Meara is fast becoming one of this season’s main characters
Warning: The following report contains spoilers for those who haven’t yet seen episode 2 of the second series of The Traitors Ireland.
It’s only episode two of the new series of The Traitors Ireland, but Borrisokane man Pauric O’Meara, or ‘Pauric O’, as he’s officially known on the show, is fast becoming a central figure this season.
In Monday night’s episode, the challenge for contestants to earn money involved a bit of musical chairs. Contestants had to dance in pairs around several bales of hay and when the music stopped, search the surrounding piles of hay for bags of money, which would then be added to the overall prize bank.
To keep the money, each pair had to make it back to a seat, with one seat being removed each time. The pair that failed to claim a seat would also be eliminated from the game. A second prize was also up for grabs, with the final two players left on seats being granted immunity from the ‘murder’ set to take place later that night.
Pauric managed to ruffle a few feathers alongside his dance partner Laura when, rather than going for the money like the other contestants, they chose to keep their seat, seemingly bidding for immunity over the cash. They later joined in and claimed their fair share for the overall prize, but not before getting a few digs thrown their way by their fellow players.
Later, at the round table, Pauric and Laura’s tactics led to some suspicion among the players. Pauric received two votes at the table, but ultimately it was Traitor Edelle who was banished from the castle.
With a bit of a target on his back now as someone to watch, Pauric will have to tread carefully to stay in the game. However, he’s moving with great confidence so far and seems very much in control and ready to strategise!
That said, Pauric is one of three contestants who may have been murdered after last night’s show. Whether it’s Laura, Sean C or Pauric O, we’ll find out on Tuesday evening.
