Former Tipperary TD Jackie Cahill has been appointed Chairperson of the National Milk Agency.
Mr Cahill was appointed to the role by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon TD.

Minister Heydon stated: “I thank the outgoing Chairperson, Denis Murphy for his dedication and commitment in overseeing and guiding the NMA. Denis was the founding Chairperson of the National Milk Agency, and I commend him for his leadership and contribution. His significant expertise, leadership and experience have shaped and directed the work of the agency over this time.
“Mr Cahill brings valuable experience and leadership to the role, with a wealth of knowledge in the dairy sector. Throughout his career, he has served on a number of boards and has extensive experience and wide-ranging knowledge of the governance and accountability structures required for state organisations”.

The term of office for the position of Chairperson of the National Milk Agency is for a period of three years, and the appointment has been made following a competitive process managed by the Public Appointments Service.
