GoFundMe set up for Fethard father who died recently leaving behind his wife and two sons

Mindaugas Liniauskas has set up the fund with the goal of supporting the family and donating to children with cancer

Svajunas Rekus passed away earlier this month

A fundraiser with the aim of raising €2,800 has been set up in loving memory of Fethard local Svajunas Rekus, who died earlier this month.

Almost €1,000 has been raised at the time of writing, after Mindaugas Liniauskas set up to page to both support the grieving family and contribute to MAMU UNIJA fund, helping children with cancer.

Svajunas passed away on August 5th, leaving behind his wife Kristina and their sons after 19 years of marriage.

Mindaugas posted a touching tribute on the GoFundMe page which reads:

"None of us knows the future and God's plans...

"In happiness and in joy, in pain and in sorrow...", "till death do us apart..." The words of the oath spoken in the presence of God exactly 19 years ago on the wedding day have come true in the most painful way.

"On the 5th of August the sons lost their beloved father, and Kristina lost her beloved husband Svajūnas...

"For those who are able to help during this dark period the family asks to consider donating, part of which will go to the family and other part will go to MAMU UNIJA fond, who provide help and care for kids with cancer.
"Svajunas, you will be dearly missed by all who knew you."
