LIVE: Gardaí issue traffic alert to Tipperary and Limerick fans ahead of League clash

Tipperary take on Limerick in a National Hurling League clash in Semple Stadium at the weekend

Tipperary gardaí are advising those travelling by car to FBD Semple Stadium February 21 for Tipperary v Limerick to consider alternative routes to ease congestion.

The M7 via the R498 through Borrisoleigh to Thurles is expected to be the busiest route, and motorists are being encouraged to plan ahead.

Alternative routes include travelling on the M7 via Moneygall, Dunkerrin, Templemore and Thurles, or the M7 via Roscrea, Templemore and Thurles.

Drivers can also travel on the M8 via Cashel, Holycross and Thurles, or take the M8 Exit 6 at Horse and Jockey to Thurles, or M8 Exit 5 at Two-Mile-Borris to Thurles.

Tipperary's big Allianz Hurling League Division 1A fixture with Tipperary in Thurles is set to be shown live on RTE TV.

The game between the arch Munster rivals will throw-in at FBD Semple Stadium at 5.30pm and will be live on RTE 2.

Limerick will be looking to build on their recent home victory over Kilkenny last time out when facing the All-Ireland champions next weekend as Tipperary look to bounce back from their first defeat of the 2026 league campaign against Cork.
