Tipperary councillor for Thurles Municipal District Jim Ryan has announced today that he will be running in the General Election as an independent candidate.
Cllr Ryan will run for the North Tipperary and Northwest Kilkenny Constituency.
"I have the political experience needed to become a TD having served as a Councillor now for over 25 years. At 51 years of age time is certainly on my side to serve my constituents for many years to come.

"I want to bring a sense of Decency, Respect and Accountability back to the role of a TD and if elected I will be a voice for everyone. There are certainly a huge amount of challenges and problems facing us as a country and in my opinion we need a new, fresh, strong, sensible and honest approach to the way Ireland is run." said cllr Ryan.
