Despite being in the winter of his senior hurling career, O’Connor is finding a new lease of life as a free centre back in the heart of Roscrea’s defence, and he showed his qualities against Toomevara. Particularly in the first half, he was utilised to keep Darragh McCarthy’s supply dry and he caught at least four clean deliveries from his reading of the game.
