Trio of Moyne Athletic Club stars to be honoured at the Canon Hayes Recreation Awards

The sporting talent on show from Tipperary athletes has been immense this year with the athletic stars really to the forefront on the local and the international stage.
Now a number of the stars will be lauded for their efforts at the Annual Canon Hayes Recreation Awards which is now in its twenty fifth year.
The Awards will take place this year in Tipperary Town next Friday, the 27th of December, at 2.30pm in what is sure to be a gala event with plenty of stars present.
The Tipperary Women's Track and Field team have been nominated for the team award after winning the National Inter County League Premier Division for the first time back in July.
Moyne AC had three athletes competing on the team, Emma Delaney, 400m and 4x400m Relay. Kate Delaney, 2k Steeplechase, Katie Bergin, 100m, 200m and 4x100m Relay.
The team was managed by Martin Flynn and selector and stats role filled by Geraldine Hickey.
The awards will be presented by former Irish rugby international Alan Quinlan. Other recipients include Olympians Sharlene Mawdsley (athletics), Daire Lynch (rowing) and Aimee Leigh Murphy (rugby).
