Man (20s) to appear before court in Tipperary following arrest over drugs and cash seizures

A man aged in his 20s will appear before  District Court next week after he was charged following his arrest in relation to the seizure of €10,300 worth of drugs and more than €5,000 in cash in a Garda search operation in counties Tipperary and Cork last week.

A Garda Press Office spokesperson said the man will appear before Cashel District Court on Thursday, July 17.

He was arrested under Section 4 of the 1984 Criminal Justice Act last week following a major Garda search operation targeting the sale and supply for drugs in the region.

Gardaí from the Clare Tipperary Crime Functional area in Cahir, supported by members from the Garda Regional Dog Unit and other regional units conducted a search and arrest operation on Wednesday, July 9.

Searches were carried out at five premises in counties Tipperary and Cork. Cannabis valued at €10,000 was seized, along with cocaine valued at €300 and cash exceeding €5,000.

A number of other items and drug paraphernalia were also seized.

The Garda Press Office said the drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
