The latest edition of The Annals of Arra will be officially launched on Thursday, 4 December at 8.30pm at Reidy’s in Newtown. The event promises an evening dedicated to history, heritage, and the stories that have shaped the local community.

The seventh volume includes a wide range of content, from hurling matches to wartime recollections, accompanied by striking photographs that capture the region’s past.

The launch will feature guest speaker Fr. Lorcan Kenny, who will offer insights into the volume and the historical context of the tales it contains.

The editorial team behind the book comprises Michael Gleeson, Jane Quinlan, Joe Ryan (Stock), and Matt Malone, who collectively curated the stories and images featured in this latest edition.

Organisers describe it as a milestone publication, highlighting both the richness of local history and the enduring spirit of the Arra community.

Copies of the new volume will also be available to purchase in local bookshops across Nenagh and the surrounding areas of North Tipperary, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to explore the stories at their leisure.

Residents and visitors are invited to attend and explore the tales contained within the latest volume.
