An additional 340 housing units have been confirmed for Nenagh by Tipperary TD Alan Kelly. This welcome news follows the announcement earlier this month of 307 homes at Dromin Road in the town, bringing the total number of new homes planned for the town to 647.

The latest phase will be developed in the Tyone area and will include:

  • 193 private homes
  • 80 affordable homes
  • 67 social homes, including 23 fully accessible units

Construction on the first phase, comprising 54 affordable homes and 12 private homes, is set to commence in April 2026.

The development will also feature a large crèche and a new nursing home, further enhancing local infrastructure.

The sales agent for the private homes will be William Talbot of Sherry Fitzgerald Talbot.

Sharing the news recently he said:

“I’m so delighted to be able to announce that 340 housing units are going to be built in Tyone in Nenagh. This is something I have been working on for years with Martin White of Whitebox Developments.

“I want to thank Martin White, Niall Harrington & Whitebox Developments for working with me on this and coming to Nenagh.”

Speaking previously about the 307-home development at Dromin Road, Alan Kelly said:

“The great news is that with Quantum Homes on board, these 307 houses are being built with a significant team on site and will be delivered quickly. Approximately 100 will be built this year. Purchasers will be in a position to buy off plans by Easter, a show village will be in place by the summer, and it is expected that the first 45 homes will have keys handed over to their new owners by the third quarter of this year.”

He added:

“This development continues my delivery of housing for Nenagh. It follows the large-scale development by Whitebox in Tyone, which will deliver over 300 homes, as well as the nearly completed 32 homes on Dublin Road (behind the Abbey Court Hotel) developed by SIEC.
With over 650 units under construction or planned, Nenagh now has one of the highest levels of housing delivery per capita of any town in Ireland.”
