Carrick-on-Suir bridge closure

The Old Bridge, Carrick-on-Suir

The Old Bridge in Carrick-on-Suir is closed to traffic this week and next week due to rehabilitation works on the historic bridge that commenced on Monday.

The Co. Council has introduced traffic diversions in the town for the duration of the works, which means motorists who normally travel over the Old Bridge to get to Carrickbeg and the Dungarvan Road are being diverted via the N24 onto New Street and cross the River Suir at Dillon Bridge.

In a statement issued on Monday, Tipperary Co. Council said the road diversions were expected to remain in place for two weeks.
