Joe's Garden Centre, Tipperary Town
A family business in Tipperary town has thanked their social media followers for 'giving them a very happy Christmas' after a large scale Facebook appeal helped them to track down machinery stolen from the property earlier this week.
Joe’s Garden Centre, located on the Limerick Road, have expressed their sincere thanks to their Facebook followers, well wishers and the gardai after machinery stolen from the premises earlier this week was recovered thanks to a wide scale social media appeal.
The garden centre was broken into on Tuesday night and a digger and trailer were stolen from the premises. A social media appeal urging anyone with information to come forward was quickly launched and immediately gained hundreds of shares and comments on Facebook.
On Wednesday evening the garden centre posted a message to their social media page saying the machinery had since been tracked down and recovered thanks to the “power of social media.”
"Our digger & trailer were found this evening. Thanks in the main to the power of social media. Thank you to everyone who liked and commented and shared this post. We would not have recovered it without you.
We would like to express our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all of the people who text, messaged, shared, commented, liked, called, came to visit, offered to help or assisted us in any way over the last two days. We are truly humbled by your actions. We would also like to thank the Gardai for their help over the last two days.
It was through the power of social media that we got our equipment back, it is amazing what community togetherness can do in times of need. Without you we really couldn't have done it.
Thank you for giving us a very happy Christmas, and we wish every one of you the same."
