The Returning Officer for Tipperary has issued an important notice ahead of the Local and European Elections.
The missive relates to the Tipperary Count Centre at the Sports Complex in the Presentation Secondary School, Thurles and ticket arrangements for attendance.
James Seymour, Returning Officer for Tipperary, states in his letter: "In accordance with the Fire Safety Regulations and directions of the Fire Officer, access to the Count Centre on Saturday 8th June 2024 (and the following days to the conclusion of the Count) will be STRICTLY controlled.
"Entry to the Count Centre will be via a printed ticket and controlled by my security team (under the supervision of An Garda Siochana).
"Priority is given to the count staff, the candidates, media and tally personnel.
"There will be no admission to the count centre without a ticket – no exceptions.
"A second hall adjacent to the count centre will be open to the public and will have a live link to the count and national television, and the Presentation School parents and teachers will have refreshments for sale to the public in this hall.
"I sincerely regret any inconvenience caused."
