Local Elections Newport candidate Phyll Bugler elected in the first count late on Saturday

Ballina and Fine Gael Local Election candidate Phyll Bugler retained her seat at the Tipperary Local Election Count Centre in Thurles last night, joining Fiona Bonfield and Pamela Quirke O'Meara on the ticket for the Newport LEA.

Bugler came up third in the overall tally, receiving 1,636 votes, just behind Quirke O'Meara with 1,665 votes. Regardless, it was enough for the Ballina woman to be re-elected in the first count.
