Division 3 Shield
Moyglass United 1 – 2 Two Mile Borris
After their comeback heroics in the league the previous weekend, Moyglass United were unable to repeat the trick in the second round of the Third Division Shield, when they went down against Two Mile Borris to the odd goal in three on Sunday afternoon.
The game was pretty even with few chances until Borris took the lead just after the half-hour mark when Donnacha Troy took advantage of a mix-up in the area to fire home. And Moyglass United were still reeling from this when the conceded a second five minutes later, to a brilliant headed effort by Padraig Fogarty.
This was the score at the break, and Moyglass United were dominant throughout much of the second period, only to be faced with an excellent performance by the Borris ‘keeper.
They finally pulled a goal back late on through Niall Doocey, but this time it was too little too late and Borris advanced.
