Paddy Dalton proved the difference between the sides as Arravale Rovers recorded a winning start to this years Tipperary Co-Op West Junior B Hurling Championship campaign with a comfortable victory over Galtee Rovers in Sean Treacy Park on Sunday morning.
The opening quarter was fairly even with Arravale Rovers keeping their noses in front but Micheal Sharpe’s goal early in the second quarter gave them breathing space.
That goal continued to separate the sides heading into the closing stages of the half. Galtee Rovers goalkeeper Robbie McGrath was keeping his side in touch from placed balls while he also made a number of crucial saves. Dalton got in for Arravale’s second goal in the twenty ninth minute to help his side into a 2-8 0-7 interval lead.
The third quarter proved sparse in terms of scores with just three in total as Arravale held an eight-point advantage. Arravale though found their range again in the final quarter helped by four more from Dalton to outscore their opponents 0-9 to 0-1 to run out comfortable winners. Paddy Dalton finishing with a final tally of 1-10 while Arravale also had the luxury of hitting seventeen wides.
