PREVIEW: Premier Intermediate fare has outcomes up in the air ahead of round 3 weekend

The Premier Intermediate Championship reaches the end of the group stages this weekend

PREVIEW:

Group 1

Silvermines V Carrick Swans
Another game where the result is meaningless as table toppers Carrick Swan face off with bottom-of-the-table Silvermines.

The Swan have been one of the standout teams at this level so far and with a squad in full health, they will be hoping they can nick a win and carry that confidence into the last eight in the next few weeks.

Silvemines will be bitterly disappointed with their year to date, especially with the Ballina loss which has sent them into the bear pit of relegation hurling.

Verdict: Carrick Swans

Upperchurch Drombane V Ballina

Upperchurch Drombane seems to have turned a corner and produced some version of their best selves in the win over Silvermines recently.

They made hard work of it at times but Aaron and Gavin Ryan produced the goods in taking them to victory and it bodes well for them heading into this winner-takes second spot clash with the Lakesiders.

The availability of Steven O’Brien will be interesting after the Tipp footballer missed round two through yet another injury, but even still, they were decent in the loss to the Swan and are capable of causing an upset.

David Kelly has taken his game to another level but an injury to young Charlie King will hamper their efforts.

Verdict: Upperchurch Drombane
