Tipperary GAA club to receive €186,869 from Sports Capital
Fr Sheehy GAA Club will receive funding of €186,869 which will benefit members
and athletes, a Fine Gael Senator has said.
Senator Garret Ahearn has welcomed the allocations made today to all local clubs
which will be used for improvements to infrastructure such as improving playing and
training facilities, astro-turfs, handball alleys, walking tracks, hurling walls, and
floodlights.
“It’s fantastic to see so many clubs in Tipperary receive funding, but I am particularly
delighted to see Fr Sheehy GAA Club receive funding, which will come as a major
boost to members.
“The club will receive funding for Hurling Wall, Astro 38x25m and storage shed,
something I know club organisers and members have campaigned hard for.
“Fr Sheehy GAA Club is at the heart of our community and any help they receive is a
great source of support to the teams and to boost participation in sport.
“Active engagement in sports not only helps keep people healthy, but it also builds
confidence, independence and promotes team building.
“It is crucial that we invest in sport for the overall health and wellbeing of our
population and that is why this programme is so important.
“I thank Fr Sheehy GAA Club for the invaluable contribution they make to our
community and look forward to seeing the improvements they make with this
funding.
“Fine Gael is committed to supporting communities and this funding will go a long
way in helping Fr Sheehy GAA Club continue the great service they provide,”
concluded Senator Garret Ahearn
