Emily Upjohn has been backed down to 9/2 from 13/2 with BoyleSports for the Breeders’ Cup Turf after the booking of Frankie Dettori was confirmed for next Saturday’s race at Del Mar.

California-based Dettori is set to reunite with former employers John and Thady Gosden having steered the five-year-old to two Group 1 victories on this side of the Atlantic, and the latest move in the betting puts her hot on the trail of 5/2 favourite Rebels Romance.

Kieran Shoemark has been on board for Emily Upjohn’s last six outings, the most recent of which at Longchamp saw her finish behind subsequent Prix de l’Arc Triomphe 1-2 Bluestocking and Aventure.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “It’s a shock reunion for Frankie Dettori with the Gosdens, but he knows both Emily Upjohn and Del Mar like the back of his hand and punters clearly think it’s a canny booking.”
