Joyous event at offices of a Tipperary company kicks off Christmas celebrations

There was great excitement outside the Camida offices on The Quay in Clonmel when the Christmas tree lights were turned on

On December 2, Camida partnered with The Presentation Primary School in Clonmel to officially kick off the festive season by switching on the Christmas tree lights outside its offices.

The joyous event brought together the community in celebration, with children, families, and staff gathering to enjoy an afternoon of music, food, and festive fun.

The children from The Presentation Primary School in Clonmel delivered a captivating performance of festive carols, expertly led by Principal Tanya O’Brien and teachers Ann-Marie O’Connor, Leanne Doyle, Berna Dempsey, Anastasia Blake and Lorraine Murphy.

The talented choir and instrumental group delighted the audience, filling the street with the sounds of the season.
Adding to the festive spirit, attendees were treated to gourmet burgers, hot dogs, homemade cookies, mince pies, and hot chocolates, all provided by the fantastic Fire and Feast Catering, Clonmel.

The event was made safe and enjoyable for all thanks to the support of Tipperary County Council and the Clonmel Gardaí, who ensured the road closure allowed the children and their families to fully enjoy the performances in safety.

A highlight of the evening was the selection of three pupils—Liam O’Gorman (Junior Infants), Amy Weston (3rd Class), and Eva Maria Anthony (6th Class)—to switch on the Camida Christmas tree lights, marking the official start of the holiday season.

Principal Tanya O’Brien shared her delight.
“We were thrilled to be invited to Camida for the switching on of the Christmas lights. Our choir and traditional music group delighted the crowd with a wonderful selection of festive songs and tunes. The evening was made even more special with a magnificent barbecue and hot chocolate to warm us up. A proud moment for our school came when three of our pupils were chosen to switch on the Christmas treelights. It was a fantastic experience for our students, and now we are on the countdown to Christmas. Thank you to all in Camida for having us.”

“We may be in business, but this is a time we can all celebrate. Events like this bring joy to the community and are a wonderful reminder of the importance of coming together, especially during the festive season,” said Camida Manager David Anchell.

Company Secretary Deirdre McGrath expressed her appreciation to the students.
“It was once again lovely to welcome the children of the Presentation Primary School, Clonmel to join with Camida in the turning on of the lights on our Christmas trees event this year. Our sincere thanks to Tipperary County Council and the

Clonmel Gardaí for assisting us with traffic control, ensuring the children and their families were safe and could concentrate on enjoying the festivities,” she said.

Camida extends its heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to making the event such a memorable occasion and wishes the entire community a joyous and peaceful Christmas.
